In July 1997, UK magazine The Face ran a five-page story on "Teleclubbers", a new raver subset apparently turning to Teletubbies for their "post-club comedown". Dedicated fan pages began appearing online. At London's Imperial College the campus activities calendar included airtimes and episode highlights. When the show first came to Hong Kong in June 1998, producers, hoping to capitalise on its burgeoning cult status, scheduled Teletubbies for 21:30 on a Fday.
